muntingprinsipe:

I was inspired by images of a book made by a kid that recreated “Snowy Day” by Ezra Jack Keats page for page. Not only was the final book interesting to look at, but I thought it brought up a lot about questions of ownership and intellectual property.
I thought I would do something similarly so I started recreating the covers of comic books I liked or thought were important. I started with “Silver Surfer #48 (1991)” because it was the first comic book I ever bought. I had been given comic books and I had taken out anthologies from the library, but this was the first.

This postcard’s image was chosen because of its composition and because I love the X-Men. I had a lot more fun drawing this postcard because I wasn’t being as exact or as fussy as I was with the first two. I’m still pretty happy how it turned out.
Also Check out Silver Surfer 48 and Amazing Fantasy 15.
